RAPTOR utilizes 360-degree scan tunnel technology, combined with a newly-designed, streamlined cabinet, and advanced CATAPULT point of sale software working behind-the-scenes. RAPTOR is an Accelerated Checkout system, not Self Checkout, providing consumers a checkout transaction that is not only extremely fast, but also convenient. It is thoughtfully designed and well-executed technology that provides a pleasurable experience for consumers, without the frustrations often encountered with traditional point-of-sale and self-checkout.

Streamlined, Fast Checkout

The top and perspective views illustrate how items, people, and the cart, move down the lane.

The customer (orange) moves from the front to the pay station.


The attendant (blue) moves to help the customer and get the cart for pre-carting their bagging station.


The items (red) move down the belts, through the scanner and into the item collection area where they are bagged and moved to the empty cart.


The cart (green) moves from the customer to the attendant between transactions, creating a pre-carting system. This creates a space for the groceries to go when bagged.

Simplified, Shorter Transaction Times

All RAPTOR features are designed to work in concert, for the sole purpose of accelerating the transaction and allowing the attendant to focus on the customer, providing assistance and expert bagging of items.


When the customer approaches, they will be greeted with a friendly, projected Consumer Interactive Display.


The attendant may also walk down, with no obstructions, to help the customer with the new technology.


The customer will be guided to place items down one at a time, so the scanner may scan them at the highest accuracy.


The streamlined flow allows for all items to be bagged before the customer is ready to pay for the purchase.


Usability testing has shown RAPTOR to dramatically shorten the overall transaction time by setting a constant ring-rate, allowing the system to process two to three times more transactions than a typical checkout lane.

Enhanced Customer Experience

The attendant will be bagging the entire time, so when the customer has finished with the items, they can walk down, pay, and leave the store with a easy and fast checkout experience.
